For company information, NetAdvantage provides you access to Standard & Poor's company profiles, financials, stock reports, analysis, and more.

For industry information, NetAdvantage provides you with surveys of more than fifty broad industries and more than 115 sub-industry reviews.

Help with Using Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage Database

Standard & Poor's provides assistance using the NetAdvantage database via the "Help" links in the top right corner of the screen.  The "Help" link goes to a specific page depending on which part of the database you are searching:  the Home page, the Companies page, the "Research" page, etc.  

On the Home Page, you can also click on the link "Take a Tour of the new Dashboard."

How Do I Find Company Information In Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage Database?

You can search for a company by entering its name or ticker in the search box at the top of any screen.  This search box is to the right of "NetAdvantage."  

You can also search for a company by using the "Companies" tab in the blue banner near the top.

How Do I Find Industry Information in Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage?

There are five ways to access Industry Surveys.  Some of the ways retrieve the same information, but some of them bring up different information.  

Each industry survey in the NetAdvantage database has a section on how to analyze a company in that industry. 

First Way

Access a company's information as explained in the box above.

Click on the link for "Industry Classifications" in the left column that is under the heading of "My Links" or the heading of "Company Summary."

Click on the link of the industry that is most appropriate.

Second Way

Click on the link for "Industry Surveys" in the blue banner near the top of the page.

Drop down the "Select a GICS Industry" menu.

Select an industry.

Click on "search."

Click on the link in the "Headline" column or on the PDF icon.

As the PDF is loading, click on the "download" link at the top.

Open or save the PDF.

Third Way

Click on the link for "Research" in the blue banner near the top of the page.

In the drop-down "Report Type" menu, click on "Industry Overview" and click on the "Search" link.  (To view older reports, click on the appropriate choice in the drop-down "Date Range" menu.)

Enter a keyword for your industry in the "keyword" box.

Click on the "Headline" link that is a column heading.  This alphabetizes the industries by their name.  

Click on the PDF icon for the appropriate industry report.

As the PDF is loading, click on the "download" link at the top.

Open or save the PDF.

Fourth Way

Hover over the link for "Markets" in the blue banner near the top of the page. 

Click on the link for "Industry Surveys" under the "Market Research" heading.

Click on the "Headline" link that is a column heading.  This alphabetizes the industries by their name. 

Click on the PDF icon for the appropriate industry report.

As the PDF is loading, click on the "download" link at the top.

Open or save the PDF.

Fifth Way

Industry profiles are different than industry surveys.  To access industry profiles:

  • Click on the link for "Markets" in the blue banner near the top of the page.

  • The screen defaults to the Energy Industry Profile. 

  • Click on the "Refine Industry" link under the blue banner on the right of the screen.

  • Select an appropriate industry or sub-industry from the list and click on "Submit" in the lower right corner of the box.

  • Explore the sources provided there.
