Stafford Library can place physical and digital items on course reserve for faculty. Physical items can be either personal items or items found in the library collection. Personal items may be placed on reserve indefinitely if desired; otherwise personal and library-owned items are put on reserve for one semester. Note that articles, chapters, practice tests, etc., can also be scanned and placed online behind a proxy for the length of one semester unless copyright policy allows such items to be used for a greater period of time.
It is the instructor’s responsibility to ensure that copyright guidelines have been met for all course reserve items. If you are unsure of copyright law, please consult Stafford Library’s guide on Copyright and Fair Use.
Faculty members have the option of determining the loan period for each reserve item — the choices are as follows: two hours with library use only, one day, two days or one week.
To place items on reserve, please complete the reserve request form and submit it along with your requested item(s). Expect one to two business days for items to appear on the reserve shelf.
