Juneteenth Film Series

The University of Missouri's Division of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity and the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation present the free Juneteenth PBS short film series.

When: 6:00 pm each Wednesday in June

June 8: “From a Free Place to Displace”
June 15: “A Place for Families”
June 22: “Soldiers, Cowboys & Indians”
June 29: “Spotlight on Unsung Heroes”

Where: the Armory Sports Center, located at 701 E. Ash St. 

Juneteenth Jamboree
Join Parks and Recreation along with other community organizations to commemorate Juneteenth. Learn more about this important holiday through music, dance, arts and other activities.

Where: Cosmo Park, 1615 Business Loop 70 W.

Juneteenth Parade, followed by Wrap-up Event at Douglas Park

When: June 18, 2022: 10:00 am to approximately 11:15 am

Where: begins at First Baptist Church and ends at Second Missionary Baptist Church

Columbia College will be participating in the parade and have a table at the Douglass Park wrap-up event from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Juneteenth Celebration

Hosted by Shelter Insurance and Soul Sessions, this event will have live music, food trucks, poetry and venders.

When: June 18, 2022: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Where: Shelter Gardens

Singing in the Key of Freedom: Juneteenth Celebration

This event will feature guest conductor Dr. Brandon A. Boyd and a community chorus. The concert event will celebrate music of the soulful tradition. Tickets cost $25.

When: June 18, 2022: 7:00 pm

Missouri Events

Juneteenth 2022 in the Delmar Loop, St. Louis, Missouri

Celebrate with art, music, food, and more. A Drum Call by Baba Kunma opens the event, and performances include African Mascarade-Mask to Stilts, African Dance by Spirit Angel of African Dance, and Red Black & Brass Band. DJ KP will be the dj for the event. Look for live art including a community mural painting and activities at St. Louis Artworks.
