Herbert Fink was a leading American twentieth century landscape and figure artist who numerous paintings and drawings. He is most highly recognized for his outstanding etchings. Herbert Fink had outstanding educational credentials including Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and Masters of Fine Arts from Yale University. Herbert Fink served as Director of the School of Fine Art at Southern Illinois University. Herbert Fink received numerous awards. He received the Chaloner Fellowship on two occasions, the Tiffany Award, the Guggenheim Fellowship and the Ford Foundation Purchase Award. He was made a Trustee of the Tiffany Foundation as well as the John R. and Eleanor R. Mitchell Foundation. Fink was elected to the National Academy of Design and was honored by Governor James Thompson as the Visual Artist of the Year for the State of Illinois in 1986. The original drawings and etchings of Herbert Fink are included in many prestigious collections including the Georgia Museum of Art, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis, the University of Michigan Museum of Art. He held solo exhibitions at institutions such as Ohio State University, Cornell University, the San Diego Museum of Art, the University of Mississippi, the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library, Yale University Art Gallery, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Trishuvan University, Nepal, Liaoning University, China, Chinese University, Hong Kong, as well as in Brazil and the Repuplic of China.

Ray H. French (May 16, 1919 - April 21, 2000), printmaker, painter, sculptor and innovator, was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on May 16, 1919. He attended the John Herron School of Art and received his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Iowa. While French studied, traveled, and exhibited nationally and internationally, he remained dedicated to his home state of Indiana, which served as a strong artistic inspiration to him. In addition to his artistic career, French was also on the faculty of DePauw University from 1948 to 1984. Following his retirement from university service, French continued to create artwork in his private studio until his death on April 21, 2000 in Greencastle, Indiana.
