Personal Account Creation (for Remote Access)

COMPUTERS

  1. You must be connected to the CC campus internet network or VPN to create an account.
  2. Go to Chronicle.com and click on the “Sign In” link at top, right-hand side of the web page.
  3. Choose the “Don't have a Chronicle account? Sign Up” option.
  4. Enter your information with your CC e-mail address; you will be required to confirm your email address. Then follow the steps on the account setup pages.

MOBILE DEVICES

NOTE: If you are in 'Standard View' on your mobile device follow the steps above for COMPUTERS.

  1. Go to Chronicle.com on your device’s web browser.
  2. Scroll down to click on the “Sign In" link.
  3. Enter your information with your CC e-mail address; you will be required to confirm your email address. Then follow the steps on the account setup pages.

Access from Campus

  1. Navigate to Chronicle.com for complete access and once the page loads you will see “SITE LICENSE ACCESS PROVIDED BY
    COLUMBIA COLLEGE” in the upper left-hand corner. Browse, search, and enjoy!

FAQs

I already have a Chronicle account attached to my CC email address. Can I still use it?
If you have an existing account with the Chronicle of Higher Education attached to your CC email address you do not need to create a new account or re-register. However, if you have your credentials saved in your web browser, you may need to log out and log back in to refresh your cookies. If you don't remember your password, you can reset it through the "Forgot your password?" link on the log in page.

Can I access Chronicle of Higher Education when I'm not on the CC college campus?
Yes. After your account has been created on Columbia College's network, you can log in to the site from anywhere!

Can I access Chronicle of Higher Education from my mobile device?
Yes!  You can access the browser version of Chronicle.com from any device. NOTE: the Chronicle app available through iTunes for iOS devices is no longer supported.

Newsletters
Get daily and weekly e-newsletters for the latest news stories and commentary on higher ed.

  1. Select the 'Get Newsletters' link in the bottom blue bar on the home page.
  2. Select the newsletters you would like to start receiving.

Explore the Archives
Access news articles, data, and commentary from May 1989 to present.

  1. Use the magnifying glass tool on the top right-hand side of the page to search your keywords.
  2. To filter the search results, you can narrow your search by date range and/or content type.

Special Reports

  1. Click on the blue user icon on the top right of any page.
  2. Select Account Benefits in the dropdown to access all the free reports available to you. 

Trend Data
The Chronicle offers comprehensive data on higher education, including executive compensation, faculty salaries, the fastest-growing colleges, and more.

  1. Select Data from the top navigation menu.
  2. Explore the latest data from special reports and data tools available on Chronicle.com.

Job Alerts
Don’t miss any potential job opportunities in higher ed. You can save your job searches on Chronicle.com and receive email alerts with new jobs matching your criteria.

  1. Select Jobs / Find a Job from the top navigation menu.
  2. Add job keywords, select other job filters, and click 'Search Jobs.'
