What Is a PEST Analysis? What is a PESTLE Analysis?

PEST and PESTLE analyses identify external factors that could positively or negatively affect a company or an industry.

A PEST analysis assesses the Political, Economic, Socio-cultural, and Technological factors of the external environment of a company or industry.

A PESTLE analysis monitors those four factors in addition to Environmental and Legal forces.
