Oftentimes, your computer may be remembering old data and attempting to authenticate you with outdated information. In this case, you will need to clear your cache, cookies and history.
REMEMBER: Clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and history may remove data such as saved passwords, shopping cart items, etc.
PC/Mac Browsers
Chrome
- In the browser bar, enter:
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
- At the top of the "Clear browsing data" window, select Advanced.
- Select the following:
From the "Time range" drop-down menu, you can choose the period of time for which you want to clear cached information; to clear your entire cache, select All time.
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Select CLEAR DATA.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
- Note: You can also clear your cache and history by the following steps:
- Click on the 3 vertical dots icon in the upper-right of the Chrome browser.
- Choose Settings.
- Choose Privacy & Security.
- Choose Clear Browsing Data.
- Repeat Steps 2 - 5 above.
Firefox
- From the History menu, select Clear Recent History....
If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible or click on the 3 Horizontal (hamburger) icon in the upper right of your browser.
- From the "Time range to clear:" drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
- Next to "Details", select the down arrow to choose which elements of the history to clear; to clear your entire cache, select all items.
- Select Clear Now.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Microsoft Edge
- In the upper right, select the horizontal 3 dots icon.
- Select the History icon, and then select the trash icon at the top of the menu.
- Select Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files. Select Clear Now.
- After the "All Clear!" message appears, exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Opera
- From the Opera menu (red 'O' in your upper left), select Settings OR type ALT+P.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Select Clear browsing data....
- In the box that opens, select Advanced.
- Select the following:
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Select Clear data.
- Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Safari 8 and later
- From the Safari menu, select Clear History... or Clear History and Website Data....
- Choose the desired time range, and then select Clear History.
- Select Safari > Quit Safari or press Command-Q to exit the browser completely.
