How to Request Books from the MOBIUS Consortium

Who can request books from MOBIUS?  Missouri residents and Columbia College students affiliated with a Columbia College campus in Missouri can request books and pick them up at a nearby MOBIUS library.

Search the MOBIUS catalog at either the Classic Version or the Encore Version.

Browse your results and click on the title you want to request.

Scroll down to the list of owning libraries and see if there are copies available.

If there are available copies, click on "Request" or "Request It."

Drop down the "Find your library or cluster" menu.

Click on the "MOBIUS - Columbia College" option.

Click on "Submit above information."

Enter your name in the appropriate box.

In the next box, enter your Columbia College ID number followed by "CC."  For example:  1234567CC.

Choose your pickup cluster and pickup location.

  • If you want to pick up the book at Columbia College, leave the pickup cluster set to the default of "MOBIUS - Columbia College."  Leave the "pickup location" drop-down menu defaulted to "Columbia Coll, Library Circ."
  • If you want to pick up the book elsewhere in the state, drop down the pickup-cluster menu and choose a library or a cluster.  If you clicked on a cluster, drop down the "pickup location" menu to see which libraries are in it.  Select the appropriate library.

Click on "Submit."

You should get a message on the screen saying your request was successful.  If there is a problem, call us at 573-875-7381 or 1-800-231-2391, ext. 7381.  You can also email us at library@ccis.edu.

You will get an email in your Cougar account when your requested item is at the pickup location.  It takes two - four business days from the date of your request for the book to arrive at the location where you want to check it out.  If you do not receive an email within four business days, call us for assistance at 573-875-7381 or 1-800-231-2391, ext. 7381.  You can also email us at library@ccis.edu.

Books will be sent back to the owning library if they are not picked up within seven days.
